Welcome! This is Dazzling Whimsy, my personal blog where I write about life and serious relationships. I’m Mandy Edmunds, just a regular girl living in Denver, Colorado. I work full-time at a local medical practice as a receptionist. While it’s not the easiest job, I love interacting with new people and making their visit a pleasant experience. In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, drawing, and getting drinks with my friends. There’s a special place in my heart for weekend brunch, too.

My History With Relationships

Since I was a teen, I’ve been in several serious relationships. I dated my first boyfriend in high school, and while the relationship obviously didn’t last, I think I’ve learned a lot since then. When you’re young, you’re still discovering yourself. Your teen years are a confusing time where you’re trying to learn who you really are. Add a relationship in the mix, and it can become a disaster! My ex and I grew apart throughout our years of high school because we were both becoming different people. Nothing wrong with that! It’s more common than you think. It hurt a lot at the time, but it’s really just a part of life.

As I grew older and knew what I wanted in life, my connections with other people required a lot less effort. I could immediately tell who I would click with. Now, I know what I’m looking for and what I need in relationships. I’m not talking about just romantic ones, either. My friendships and family ties are very important to me, too. But I’ve come to recognize when one of these serious relationships just isn’t working for me or bringing me joy anymore. Fortunately, I’m now happily engaged to a wonderful man named Tom. We’ve been together for five years now and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him. I can’t tell you how happy I am that I’m not only with a guy who’s amazing, but who’s also the right guy for me.
